Program Prospectus
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: This workshop demonstrates the fundamentals of
grassroots lobbying and the
benefits of your legislative alert system.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES: |

Participants experience the basics of lobbying
in a safe environment.
2)
Participants learn key issues affecting their
interests.
3)
Participants learn how to use a grassroots
system.
4)
Experienced lobbyists develop additional
skills in grassroots action.

PROGRAM ELEMENTS: |
| |

1)
The workshop takes 4 contact hours. Additional
time is required for issue analysis and strategy making.
2)
The program addresses a range of audience
creating a confident grassroots team. It addresses basic fears and unrealistic
expectations.
3)
The workshop uses workbooks, discussion,
presentation and
simulations.
4)
The workshop is very effective at two times
in the legislative cycle.
- During or just after the end of the legislative session. It capitalizes
on when members are most involved (and frequently disappointed) with the
legislative process.
- During the fall issues seminars. It's helpful in recruiting your interested,
but less involved members. The program can involve friendly legislators.
